So... I just had my tires replaced and it is just now that my bike starting from a dead stop makes this loud rubbing noise (coming from the front forks... I think). I have no idea what it is, I don't know if rubbing is a good word to describe it.. It only stays until for a second until I'm going about 5 mph... Anyone experienced this before.. or have any suggestions??
not much to look for up there.
fender on correctly?
brakes bolted on right?
axle spacers installed correctly?
Guesswork. Forks could be binding and cocked. Loosen the pinch bolts, pump on the front suspension a bit, tighten back up and see if that does it?
#1, don't ride it till you fix it.
#2, give what curmudgeon said a try. sometimes things get tightened up at an odd angle and just need shifted.
it sounds like your TIRE is hitting something though... have you been able to spot any odd wear lines on the tire and line that up with a hard-part on the bike?
This video should help explain the process:

Is it more of a moaning sound coming from the clutch? Dry clutch with a closed cover? Dust build up from pressure plate wear can cause them to moan on take-off...blow it out with compressed air if that's the case.
If it was a tire rubbing something I think you'd notice it quickly...or at least be able to see a mark on the tire or whatever it was rubbing on. The sound starting right after your tire replacement could be a coincidence though.
Discs also moan when moving slowly if there's a fork alignment issue. The OP just had his tires changed.

OK. It was just an idea. Clutches moan as well.
Why would the forks be misaligned? I've changed a bunch of front tires and never had a problem...unless they removed the forks from the triples??
