Title: Tail chop. To bracket or not to bracket Post by: memper on July 01, 2012, 06:01:15 PM Looking at ducatisuite, a bracket was not used. Is all this bracket stuff basically a means to give your signals and lic plate an easy home?

Is all this bracket stuff basically a means to give your signals and lic plate an easy home? I believe there are 2 options for mounting ur license plate after the chop 1 is directly under ur tail light 2 is under need the seat (by the mud guard) hence stealth looking. Check ur frame to see if you have the mounting tabs for the tail light...if yes i dont think u need the bracket because after the chop, u can just mount the light back in the same position. As for my bike which is the 2000 M750, the tail light mounted onto the beer tray, so when i loose the beer tray, then i have to make my own bracket to hold the light. If u need bracket, then take a look at ducatimonstertailchop.com and also check out those integrated tail light too and the stealth bracket Title: Re: Tail chop. To bracket or not to bracket Post by: corey on July 02, 2012, 05:22:55 AM not completely necessary. if you're resourceful, you can make one on your own for a lot cheaper.
try to incorporate a spot for your license plate LIGHT to go, to keep you from getting hassled during state inspection and/or any unfortunate traffic stops... Title: Re: Tail chop. Personally 3 is just too big on the side and 4 doesn't really look clean enough for my taste. Thanks for pointing that out though. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Tail chop. To bracket or not to bracket Post by: memper on July 02, 2012, 11:36:50 AM Ok. I'll have a look this weekend. I have a 99 750, with luck i have the frame tabs. If not im sure it could be solved with a bit of angled alum strap.
I plan to run my rear stalk signals through the sides of the bit of frame left after the chop. Dont like the look of the turns IN the cutoffs. My current plate holder is just pop riveted to the underside of the beer tray. Relocation will be a snap Title: Re: Tail chop. To bracket or not to bracket Post by: showerfan on July 12, 2012, 05:35:48 PM on the back wheel like a diavel looks awesome. here's a pic on an 1100 evo. but i once asked the dealer how to get a bracket like that and they looked at me like i was crazy [coffee] but of course they always look at me like that in SOHO.

Title: Re: Tail chop. To bracket or not to bracket Post by: memper on July 13, 2012, 07:37:43 AM Sick idea but looks best on SSS.
I did the chop and brackets were there so no kit necessary. I took the signal plate/tag plate and just mounted it to the underside of the plastic wheel well and secured it more with zip ties. All good and looks much better. Title: Re: Tail chop. To bracket or not to bracket Post by: JEFF_H on July 13, 2012, 01:49:14 PM to showerfan- pretty sure that is a Rizoma part

super easy, and better than spending $40 bucks or whatever on a piece of bent once metal. Title: Re: Tail chop.
