Title: Mandarin Duck Panniers, Fun Fact
Post by: dlearl476 on July 13, 2012, 09:50:00 AM
So yesterday I locked my bags, for the second time ever, and BROKE THE KEY!  There's a little "safety" pole inside the lock and it broke off inside the corresponding hole in the key.  I figured it was game over for the lock, but took it to a locksmith to get it opened so I could at least get my disc lock and chain out.  Turns out the key is the same as a handcuff key.   [clap]

A $5.00 solution to what, I'm sure, would have been a $50< Ducati problem.   [thumbsup]

Yeah, just waiting on the email.   ;)  You should still have it in your PMs.

I wish I had those bags.

I thought this thread was about where to find some.....but instead I find it's just a collection of City owners  [beer]

Shame. I've been using them a lot lately and they're really nice.  As a matter of fact, out of 4 bags systems I have on 3 different bikes, they are the easiest mounting/dismounting opening bags I have. And I recently had occasion to test their waterproof-ness and they passed with flying colors

Good luck on the City Bars. I live mine.

I've only had my City this year... Before I had a 900SS.  I *love love love* the City.  There's a few niggles to take care of.  One of which is the bars.  The PO had a tip over in the garage, and the bar is bent ever so slightly.  enough for it to be annoying.  The right side rearset is tweaked as well.

What else do you love about the City?  I know it has the aluminum swing arm, the extra rise of the handlebars, blue paint, and the (gone) saddle bags.  Am I missing anything else?

Sorry, dlearl for threadjacking, but I figured we have City owners in here.  I will gladly start a new thread for the City if you'd prefer.

If you're arrested...

emptying your pockets.  ;D

Not that I'd know. [thumbsup]

No problem. Gives the thread some traction.  [thumbsup]

Big City fan here, anyway.
