(http://i674.photobucket.com/albums/vv108/ducrider45/IMG-20120528-00120.jpg) I worked well into the night to get it back together. Major service was needed on the hub and swingarm pivot. I also took the time to install a new sprocket and chain. After some new rubber I was ready for the ride of a lifetime! On a side note. It seems everytime I see pictures of the "tree of shame" it's grown more motorcycle parts. It certainly was a sobering totem to see the first time I rode down there and I think a good thing to see before riding 129. My sister has his bike and just got it fixed up and running. It is a 84 Kawasaki.

Great story and pics! My dad got a bike a few years ago, after I made him jealous with mine. He hadn't ridden on over 30 years. Bought a comm system, and we go on rides every once in a while up into the mountains. I was much faster in the tight sections. we kept it sane for the most part. There was a good amount of traffic for a Monday. Cops were out in full force as well. They had a fatality the day before and two major wrecks the day we were there. What he(SP) said ^. and...Rides well. A little bit of back fire at very low RPM's while on the gas. The sound is loud, but without the real deep notes. The low notes hurt my ears for some reason.
