Title: What tools?
Post by: Ducatamount on July 19, 2012, 05:35:15 AM
Any suggestions on what tools to carry in my underseat tube?
I have a 2001 900Sie.

        Thanks,
         John B.

Depends on where you're going. 100> miles from home, this and a CC is all I carry.

Further from home I'd add wrenches to adjust chain, 4-Way Screwdriver, pair of pliers (I find a pair of hefty needlenose are the most useful) and an assortment of fuses/bulbs. A tire plug kit and MC jumper cables for multi-day trips, but at that point you've gone past the size restrictions of the under seat storage. (my Corbin has zero, so I can't even carry the relatively useless OEM kit in mine.)

I'd like to be able to carry stuff under my seat. Nothing there to keep it in.

I guess you don't have a Sargent saddle then!

is your bike modified?

the factory monster setup has the basic tool kit under the seat.  there is plenty of room to add some items.

Thanks for the link.
I did a search, but with too little patience as usual.   :)

I like, but for those moments waiting for the tow truck I would have this...

Can't say. I always decline it because I'm so happy with AAA. Keep in mind though, AFAIK AAAPlus is the only coverage that includes bikes and it's not available in every market.
