Title: Kickstand woes Post by: chris1044 on July 25, 2012, 05:44:52 PM Stock kick stand on an S2R....when I ride over bumps the thing jiggles/comes down from the bike and slams back up.
The bolts/nuts are tight, but it's still all over the place. I haven't taken it off the check bushings (assuming there are some), but if they're fine what's next?? I never understood why cyclecat made a kick stand...until now [laugh] Title: Re: Kickstand woes Post by: Heath on July 25, 2012, 09:56:14 PM Are the springs good too?
Title: Re: Kickstand woes Post by: Novelo on July 26, 2012, 04:34:44 AM I would double check that spring it should a double spring one inside the other and make sure it has plenty of tention.

Title: Re: Kickstand woes Post by: Slide Panda on July 26, 2012, 08:10:38 AM The cycle cat stands were offered at different lengths, and well look better.
But +whatever to checking the spring. Title: Re: Kickstand woes Post by: chris1044 on July 26, 2012, 05:46:55 PM Yep, that would be a problem. I have ONE spring on mine. Spring has decent tension...I hadn't look really close so didn't notice another location for a spring.
It is possible that it's a spring inside a spring, and if that's the case IDK if mine's got both springs. Thanks for the posts...I'll take a look this weekend. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Kickstand woes Post by: chris1044 on July 30, 2012, 03:16:43 PM Well,
Checked the stand for two springs....and they're both there. One inside another as I thought. It's got some "side to side" wobble if you move the end of the kick stand left/right like the pivot has a worn bushing or something. That's my next point when I've got time. Or I'm looking for heavier springs/aftermarket. |
