Title: Visual difference between stock seat and DP comfort seat for Monster 1100 EVO Post by: SDRider on July 28, 2012, 07:50:45 PM I took a couple pics today to illustrate the difference in height between the OEM seat and the Ducati Performance Comfort seat. The comfort seat is more comfortable but the stock seat is a bit lower and is better for spirited riding IMO.

I have the comfort seat, and would recommend it.
The stock seat would have been torture after six hrs. Title: Re: Visual difference between stock seat and DP comfort seat for Monster 1100 EVO Post by: Raux on July 29, 2012, 08:42:14 AM The comfort seat is a dream for long rides for the stock setup.
But it is higher. I've done a few 150-200 mile days on it and I'm pretty sore and ready to get off at that point. The longest single ride I've done is probably around 200 miles in one day with stops at various points throughout the ride so it was probably about 4.5-5 hours in the saddle. I've done this a number of times actually... and while the rides themselves are great fun, it is enough to make me want to get off the bike badly by the time I get home. ;) Title: Re: Visual difference between stock seat and DP comfort seat for Monster 1100 EVO Post by: Raux on July 30, 2012, 09:33:46 PM Not all at once I trust? :P I've put 8,000 miles on my bike with most of it on the stock seat. I like the height, I need one after installing Woodcraft rear sets. I have Sargent seat now, just wondering if I can build it up to that height...doesn't seen to have enough upholstery. I would love to keep my Sargent for the storage compartment underneath.

Even though I try to sit towards the rear of the seat. Title: Re: Visual difference between stock seat and DP comfort seat for Monster 1100 EVO Post by: Skybarney on August 06, 2013, 11:45:55 AM I purchased a Saddlemen Track seat. Even before I sold my DP seat. It redefined comfort for $350.00. No more annoying hot spot between the ol' butt cheeks and the Gel in the split saddle has been silly comfortable. I had an issue with a couple of the bumpers coming off underneath and Saddlemen issued and immediate call tag. They were so happy that I was cool about having to return it that they are going to send me a custom version in return. A little flatter, red stitching and a red center piece to match my bike.
Screw Corbin, or the DP seats. The Saddlemen is scary comfy and the customer service 10 stars. [laugh] You are looking at it all wrong; If I pee myself it won't drip down the paint. I call that an improvement ;D! |
