Title: s4r routine servicing
Post by: Fitzy on July 29, 2012, 11:30:31 AM
hey guys im new to ducati i bought a 2004 s4r it had 3885 miles when i bought and im already up to 4450 and i was told she got new belts, tires and oil at 3000 miles im just wondering when my next scheduled service should be. Also got some dark clutch fluid should i flush it out or is that normal, and i have a dp ecu and im wondering if its the reason for my bad gas mileage or maybe its just my right hand ive been getting 100 miles out of a tank. thanks

If valves have not been checked, etc you should think about a full service.   Dark clutch fluid is normal, but clutch and brake fluid should be changed yearly, coolant too.

The reason for bad gas mileage is because our bikes get bad gas mileage.  I think I broke 100 miles once in 3 years.

6000 miles for valves

What's your milage? Not just fuel range. If I remember correctly, the S4Rs has a smaller fuel volume than other due to a bigger cut out for the air box. You might get great mileage, but if you can't carry a lot of fuel you won't go far.
