Hey gang. thought I might post where about 10 of us are off too in November
The ride is to Ovens hotel then onto the blue duck inn at anglers rest on saturday 3rd, sunday 4th and monday the 5th of November.

Leaving the caltex in Merimbula( Home town) 9 am on Saturday heading to Bombala, Ando, Dalgety, Berridale, getting fuel at adaminaby. Off to Kiandra left to Cabramurra, turn down the Elliot Way to Tumbarumba for lunch. Then on to jinjellic tallangatta, tangatangaaaaaaaaa shit i cant even spell let alone pronounce it over to Ovens for our firsts night stay.

Happy valley hotel in Ovens .Sounds a bit gay  ???

On the saturday its a bit of a cruisey day, lunch at mount buffalo, then back down to Bright on to Falls Creek then on to the blue duck inn for a lazy afternoon by the fire with a beverage or two  [wine]

Monday is on to Omeo, to Bruthen, Nowa Nowa and home, it has been suggested that the Bonang could be a option to travel home but its how we are all feeling after a weekend of the best twisties in austral. CANT WAIT [thumbsup]

How far is it in total?

Nothing like a good long ride in one direction. The vast majority of mine start and finish in the one spot - the garage.  [Dolph]

About 1033k's approx. Hmmm might be feelin it by the end. Only been on the bike for 2 hour stretches at a time.

Yes I must admit techno, as long as you ride out and RIDE back in to the garage its a good thing ;)

Hey jamie2548 a word of advice for this fantastic run you have mapped out.

1) Brand new (scrubbed in) tyres

2) Lose the undies and use padded bicycle shorts, it minimises monkey butt

Jamie my wife and some other DMF's did a similar ride a few months ago.
What Mick said [thumbsup] plus good earplugs and plan for re group spots if you get seperated .
Bring some tools ,chain lube,and chux soaked in window claener in a zip lock for your visor

 We were lucky we had Paul with us who noticed Luba's chain had
over tightened and found a garage with a big enough socket to adjust it.

 Also if possible plan the timing for the best twistie bits well ahead so you are not riding them
first thing in the morning when the tyres and road are cold and you are not still sleepy also
early morn and late arvo the shadows can obscure loose surface and the bloody ROO's are
most active.

That will be a great ride.  Happy Valley road is a nice alternative to Tawonga Gap road.  (or do a loop round both if time allows).
If you have the time and stamina it's worth riding the Bonang Hwy.  There are still two small patches of dirt that are easily ridden on a Monster and the rest of it is lovely twisty blacktop with very little traffic.

You will probably see a lot of Ducatis in the area as Turismo starts in Canberra on the Sun/Mon ending up in Albury a few days later.

Cheers everyone. ;D Bit excited at the same time a bit apprehensive. God help me if it rains! I have no experience in the wet yet :-[
I have a good group of guys and gals going (although only one other rides the appropriate machine [Dolph]They will look after me. Im only on my P's so I will have to be very good when its comes to a couple of cold ones after a days ride.40 year old on his P's!! how bad is that.Late bloomer [laugh]
Some great ideas though, thanks [thumbsup] Anything you would suggest in the way of tools to take? I got the obvious and also went and got the correct size socket for the rear. Only got a small tailbag for the 3 days so i dont want pack in too much.

Do yourself a favor if you haven't already and get a duc performance comfort seat or a sesrgent seat!! Worth every cent

I would take a tyre puncture repair  plug kit with the little co2 cartridges,at minimum. And know how to use it, you tube is your friend there,

Then a leatherman multitool,with long nose pliers incorperated, a small 6"shifter, metric hex key set.
electrical tape, a few random sized cable ties, screw drivers.
