with no clutch pack in your bike is there gonna be negative effects if your running the engine? Ive seen both answers to this question so just wanna see what the general consensus here is.
Nope, no negative effects
No FHE doing this but cannot see any problems, except if you pull the clutch lever it may push the clutch actuating rod out too far and cause a mess.
I agree, but why would you need/want to?
Well I just got my bike back together except installing the new clutch. It's going to be Monday before I'll have access to the tools I need to do that so I figured if it was ok I'd go ahead and try to start the bike that way if it won't start I can go ahead and try to find out why over the weekend. Just trying to make good use of my time

That makes sense.
Don't try to assess how it's running without the clutch installed.
That might be deceiving.
Really just wanted to see if it would start. It was my first time taking a bike down this far so it was a really good feeling when it started up on the first try tonight ;D I was sure I was going to have forgotten to hook something up ha.
