Title: INTERCHANGEABLE REAR BRAKE PEDALS????
Post by: COP TZR on August 15, 2012, 04:24:35 AM
Hey all.  I have an early Monster DSS (2000 M750)  I need to replace my rear brake pedal, and was looking at the ones on the later models like ('05,06,07).  They look to be the same shape & design, other than the "toe" piece being "flat" rather than round like what i currently have on my bike.

Does anyone know or tried to fit the newer design onto an older bike?  Fit?

thanks.

Any DSS monster should be a viable donor.

so the pedals off the SSS like an S2R or S4R with the smaller OEM rearset won't swap in?

They look identical in design shape other than the "toe" parts being flat.

Probably, but can't confirm. I'd suspect that the same mounting bolts are used - but the position of the linkage mounts may well be different.

Will not work.  The DSS lever drops down lower than the SSS lever, and the brake light switch is in different locations (have both in the garage to compare).

DSS Lever to SSS = wrong ergos & no brake lights
SSS Lever to DSS = Interference with rear set bracket & no brake lights.

With that said, I didn't even compare the actuation portions for the rear brake master.

well I'm glad someone had both of them handy.  Thanks for clearing that up.  That being said, would you like to sell me the DSS brake pedal that you have?

Sorry, No can do.  They're both still attached to motorcycles.
