Title: 696 Handle Bars AND risers
Post by: repsolracer22 on August 20, 2012, 10:40:39 AM
hey guys. got a 696 the other day cheap and it has bent handle bars on it. bike is stock

was wondering if anyone knew the stock diameter of these bars? there's a set of Renthal street fighter bars available to me for cheap, and Id like to get em but they are 7/8" bars. just wanted to know if they would work with stock everything else

also ... if I got these bars, whats the best recommendation for 1.25 risers? will they work with the renthal bars?  thanks

that's what i figured .....

would these renthal bars be similar to the stock ones? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RENTHAL-7-8-HANDLEBAR-BLACK-CUSTOM-STREET-FIGHTER-/370635567243 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/RENTHAL-7-8-HANDLEBAR-BLACK-CUSTOM-STREET-FIGHTER-/370635567243)

because if so, i can get them for cheap. and then i'll get some risers too

They look close to the Rizoma bend.

On my S2R, the stock bars killed my wrists.  The Rizomas look about the same as stock, but they are a little "straighter" and more comfortable for me.

The 695 had a similar painful bend.

I can only assume the new monsters have a painful bend, and that the aftermarket solutions are more comfortable.  The Renthal you show looks like it would be comfortable for me.

I'm sure that is all very helpful since I don't mention your bike at all  :P

If they are cheap and it turns out you don't like them, sell them off and get something else.
