Its amazing how many people wont consider buying a bike with over 30K on the clock when they are capable of this. Title: Re: ST2=200,000k(parks next to the M800) Post by: auntymal on August 24, 2012, 12:44:34 AM .......even 100,000k is still "only" 60,000 mile.....and if it's water cooled, gets 5000k oil changes, warm ups, and is not revved into the twilight zone on every gear change, (i.e. it's not a race engine), it 'should' outlive its rider..... It's on its fourth chain, it's second clutch, replaced @ 140,000k due to the basket wearing out completely, it was however, still not slipping.....new 'second hand' basket and a set of std plates, and on we go......original unit sent back to the factory. Makes me glad to know I have many, many, many great years ahead with my Lucia! GK Title: Re: ST2=200,000k(parks next to the M800) Post by: auntymal on August 24, 2012, 11:40:16 PM 2x regulators, 1x stator, fixed the reg' issue by removing a small part of the fairing allowing much much greater airflow over the unit problem fixed, my electrical guru said the unit was a little small for the job, increasing the airflow made it "think" it was bigger and presto, amazing, no?
Title: Re: ST2=200,000k(parks next to the M800) Post by: FIFO on August 25, 2012, 01:29:53 AM 200,000k [thumbsup] If you haven't already done it,next belt change, replace the idler and tensioner bearing,4 off They spin very fast as they are smaller in diameter, even if they feel good with 200k on them, your only relying on the grease packed in them from new :P If one ceases it can be very catastrophic. :'( Title: Re: ST2=200,000k(parks next to the M800) Post by: monstermick58 on August 25, 2012, 02:21:42 AM Goodonya Aunty, there is now hope for my little ST4 which only has 49600 on its second clutch (plates only) so here's hoping that the 4v is as reliable as the 2v.
