Title: Suburban machinery bars on S2R800
Post by: techno on August 28, 2012, 05:07:13 AM
I am thinking about this mod.

A search reveals that many here who have them, swear by them.

Can anyone post some before and after pictures and comment on how they are different from the standard bars?

Also, the SM site seems to suggest they don't come pre drilled for the S2R. Is this everyone else's experience?

I think with the SM bars you will have to remove your front windscreen.

One of the best mods you can do  ( along with a 14t)

OK non drilled but no biggie just file off the nubs on the controls ..bolt into place ..mine have never moved

there basically like clubman bars so down and forward ...a very natural flow for your body ...have done 5 hour stints without issues

as for the screen yes it will fit ..but Monsters should never have screens ..so not relevant

easy install takes about a half hour at the most

I probably never would have tried them, but the Monster I bought was used and had them installed. I believe they are more comfortable than stock bars especially when combined with rear-set foot controls. They look nice too.

Thanks for the pics privateer! That's probably the best shot comparison I've seen that shows the difference.

I'm trying to decide between these bars or the speedymoto tall boy clipons. Does anyone have experience with both that can comment on how much more pullback and height the speedymoto would provide?

No FHE with the Suburban Machinery bars but I've got the Speedy Moto tallboys (3" risers) which mounted under the stock triple
give about stock height. As for sweep, that's all a matter of how little (low speed) steering you can tolerate, or how much you tank has grown.
If you can mount the tallboys above the triple, sky's the limit, so to speak.

Thanks! Any chance you could get a shot of yours? I've seen a couple floating around here but one from the front like above would be excellent
