Title: Can PC3 wires melt?? Post by: uclabiker06 on June 28, 2008, 07:39:28 AM I have a PC3 and was wondering how would I know if one of the thin wires like the one that goes to the TPS, or any other ones melted or got pinched a year or two down the rode? They look so frail. Anybody had this problem? My main concern is not that this will happen now but down the rode as the years pass by.

They should be fine if routed properly (away from any thing hot or sharp). I thought that same thing when I installed my pc3 2 years ago. I'm sure it would have been fine the way they were, but I hated the look of the little wires. I ended up wrapping them before installation. Title: Re: Can PC3 wires melt?? What does that one do anyways? Just curious . I like that idea about wrapping them.

If you know your bike well, you might notice. My bike decided that it didn't like the map anymore after the 6k and light flywheel install, and I could smell and feel the problem. NO. The pc3 WILL NOT function properly if the TPS wire fails. The PC3 needs to detect throttle position to apply a preset amount of fuel for a given RPM. Also, if the TPS wire fails, "I think" the LEDs on the pc3 won't light up when you open the throttle. Title: Re: Can PC3 wires melt??
