Title: Squeeky rear end
Post by: Jason1 on August 29, 2012, 04:34:49 PM
When I sit on or push the bike (2001 M900) I get a squeeking noise.  I can't tell if it from the top of the hoop or the other side of the pivot.  My question is, is this a common problem and can I just lubricate it or do I have to replace bushings.  Also if it is a common problem which bushings are they.  The bike also has 21,000 miles on it.  Thanks Jason

Just lube all the pivots.

If you have an aftermarket seat they can rub on the suspension linkage.

my 2000 M750 did this too when I got it, it was coming from the heim joints on the bottom of the hoop. I turned the pivot sideways in the heim, blasted the crap out of it with brake cleaner and compressed air, and packed it back up with waterproof bearing grease and wobbled the pivot all over the place as I was packing it, noise gone

Yes, lube the heim joints as motoxmann said.

Make sure nothing else is rubbing.
