Drew from monsterparts here
I have been working on a 2000 monster 900 that sat for 6 years i am trying to bring it back to life for the owner
here is a list of the things i have done
fuel tank cleaned and coated (done by Ducpainter)
new fuel pump and fuel filter
new battery
new spark plugs
new air filter
new fuel lines
injectors and throttle body soaked and cleaned
new belts
oil and filter
a few other things that would not pertain to the bike running bad
the bike will not run rite no matter what i do it has 46 psi coming from the fuel pump
I did a compression test on both cylinders and they are both ok
the bike will start run kinda ruff for a bit then clear up if i try to rev it quickly it will fall on its face and die
if i try to just barely (and i mean barley any movement)twist the throttle it will rev pop a few times thru the air box then rev up.it seems that once i get it past a certain point on the tach it will rev normal( like if i dont let the revs fall back down to idle it can be revved up again just fine)
my boss has a 2001 monster 900 and i have been swapping alot of parts to try and figure out what the problem could be
but have not figured it out i have checked all fuses multiple times and no problem there
swapped ecu, fuel pressure regulator, coils and still same problem
i checked the belts again just to make sure and they are set correctly
any help would be greatly appreciated
TPS set properly?
TPS functioning properly?
If the injectors are clogged, just a soaking will probably not help. Check the spray pattern.
In tank hoses in good condition? SAE 30R10 spec?
Major vacuum leaks?
what airbox/filter set-up are you running? what pipes? when you experience this, what position is the fast idle lever on the left handlegrip?
i am currently trying to get socio to work with the 15m ecu to check the tps the airbox is stock and the pipes are stock i cleaned the injectors but never checked spray pattern the intank hoses were all replaced and there are no vacuum leaks the fast idle is disengaged when testing and when i have it on it does not changed the problem

Did you see the slop that came out of that tank? :o :o :o
If it isn't a tps issue I think that some stuff is still in there.
So i swapped the tps from my bosses bike and it fixed it thx everybody for the input ;D ;D
I need to take my Monster home so it doesnt get used as the parts supply. [roll]
