Title: Diagnose my duc: intermittent idle issue
Post by: Meerkat on September 13, 2012, 01:12:23 PM
Crazy duc intermittently has up and down idle problem. Goes away if engine turned off and restarted. Tends to do this more when temp is hot, but will still do it at cooler temps. Suggestions appreciated...otherwise, I guess I'll break down and take it to the shop.

Set TPS and throttle synch, confirm the idle stepper motor is working.

My '07 S2R1000 does the exact same thing when I start it up on cool mornings, but after about a minute it behaves normally. Haven't bothered to bring it in to see what's up with it yet since it doesn't seem to affect the ride once warmed up. If you bring yours in to get checked for the things Howie suggested, please let us know if the issue is resolved.

Thanks, Howie. I'll give it a shot tomorrow night and see if it helps.
