Title: where's ungeheuer? Post by: ungeheuer on September 14, 2012, 05:43:45 AM I often ride in places where there's no phone coverage. Frequently in places where I don't encounter too many passers-by either.
So I bought one of these: (http://www.gpscity.com/g/gps/s/s/spot2.jpg) So if I end up broken and wounded up shit creek somewhere, at least they'll know where to find my corpse [laugh] Click the link below to follow my progress - or lack of it. Whenever I have the device activated the map is updated every ten minutes. http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0SkBbq6aFysRHoBsf6WvpAMaNXQ9Y82ro (http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0SkBbq6aFysRHoBsf6WvpAMaNXQ9Y82ro) If all you see is: "No displayable messages found for feed".... means there's been no activity recorded the last 7 days. Try again later :) Title: Re: where's ungeheuer? Post by: brimo on September 14, 2012, 12:41:43 PM Does it work on Mars?

I microchip would be less embarrassing......for me! ;) Title: Re: where's ungeheuer? Post by: BastrdHK on September 14, 2012, 10:01:27 PM Cool, I wish it gave a few more details, like distance traveled in total/between updates.
Title: Re: where's ungeheuer? Post by: ungeheuer on September 15, 2012, 02:46:23 AM Cool, I wish it gave a few more details, like distance traveled in total/between updates. Yeah, that would be good. Guess it would only be a vague indication anyway since all it does is record "as the crow flies" between each check-in. Also I notice that even though its supposed to transmit a location check-in every 10 minutes, it goes missing under heavy tree coverage. There was a couple of check-ins a half hour or more apart. Title: Re: where's ungeheuer? Post by: jsd2 on September 16, 2012, 12:38:52 PM I use one of these while i am backpacking. I have been thinking of carrying it on my motorcycle. They are nice because there is the emergency button if something really bad happens but there are a couple ways to send emails from it.

Allow me...Inquiring followers want to know. ;) Ung came into TOSAT, and other threads in NMC, today doing his best pirate impression. I have a young son that watches a show on Sprout called The Wiggles. The Wiggles are a group of guys from OZ that have made a career, and a ton of money, doing kids entertainment. They have a character named, coincidentally, Captain Feathersword. Since the show was on the tv right behind me, and that character was on the screen, I felt obligated to misuse my moderator powers and change his name. I'm sure he'll change it back when he's done being a pirate. ;D Title: Re: where's ungeheuer? Post by: El-Twin on September 19, 2012, 07:50:42 AM I've been DP'ed. Allow me....
