Hi guys ,
I just bought my 3rd ducati this is an older carbureted monster 750 from 99. I am planing to build a custom "cafe fighter " from.
I have an extra set of complete single sided swingarm with shock, linkage, sprocket ,hub ,brake, brake line ,master ... from an 08 hyper 1100.
I have a friend who can help me out with milling the left side of the single swingarm to make it fit in to the engine case , but I am affraid if the engine case is strong enough to hold all the weight and stresses. On my other bikes (2008 hyper 1100 s ,2002 998) the frame makes supporting function as well .
I need some advise if someone done this before.
Thanks
I would not do it personally. I have done it in the past, once. I did not mill the cases to support the swingarm. I actually added the supports to the frame. It was a major pain and a lot of time/money to do it right. Milling the cases to support the swingarm seemed like a bad idea to me.
