Title: Carb warming oil line
Post by: garryc on October 06, 2012, 02:48:08 AM
i have a 98 m600 with Mikuni's
As pointed out previously these  carbs have an oil line with a tap to open to warm the carbs.
i have never used the tap.
I live in a warm climate although have been known to ride at cooler aussie times. (probably not cold by some standards).
Is there any need for this tap?
If there is no need for this tap would it be possible to use the lines to run a an oil cooler
thanks

I don't believe those lines will flow enough to be effective as oil cooler supply and return lines.

They're pretty small aren't they?

They are coser to brake line or cylinder oil line sizes.
Better to buy the correct size oil lines for a cooler. A used cooler may even come with them or you can get custom ones made at a hydraulics shop.
