Title: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: rjmdavid on October 11, 2012, 10:17:59 AM So, seems Bazzaz is now coming out with Self Mapping|Z-Fi Fuel Injection Control Unit - for older Ducati Monster S4Rs Bikes
Amazing improvement in performance ! [clap] As you can see from their "real hp at rear wheel' I got a few more hp all the way up to top end. Bazzaz measure hp at the rear wheel instead of at the crank like others do so using Ducati's published 130 HP as a starting point - I am guessing I am getting 140 to 150 - and smoooooth Wanted to share this with other Monster Forum members - see below for results (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8466/8077590144_ba1a730498.jpg)[/url] bazazz (http://www.flickr.com/photos/88540654@N08/8077590144/#) by RD907 (http://www.flickr.com/people/88540654@N08/), on Flickr[/img] looks like they have done it again ! Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: Speeddog on October 11, 2012, 04:37:35 PM Can you ask them how the 'after' HP numbers are higher at the rpms where the 'before' and 'after' A/F ratios are the same?
Approximately how much $? Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: muskrat on October 12, 2012, 12:29:22 PM is it for both the 996 and 998 engines?
Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: LA on October 15, 2012, 10:03:52 AM Yea, Brad Black posted dyno runs 6 years ago when the S4RS first came out. The tull Termi kit added over 10 lb.ft. and up to 14 extra HP across the range. With a max power of about 128 to 130 at the wheel, that's about 142 to 144 at the crank - divide real wheel by about .9 to get that.
It definately takes the bigger 50mm pipes and the open air box to get that though. I paid $2100 at the time of purchase to get mine. It was a deal. Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: Nero-92 on October 18, 2012, 04:09:39 PM So is this a dyno run the reason why I ask is "the real hp at the rear wheel comment" over this side of the pond we take for granted that dyno run power and torque out puts are at the rear wheel and the computer sim stuff is not mentioned. confused in Ireland.

Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: BazzazInc. on October 25, 2012, 02:54:35 PM The power has increased although the AFR is approx the same in certain area's due to slight temp changes from one run to the other and also the bike is building more power from the start which will cause the bike to continue the gain that it is making with a much smother AFR. The cost of the base fuel control unit (ZF-I) is $379.95. Z-FI QS (fuel control and quickshift all in one control unit) $819.95. Z-FI TC (fuel control, quickshift, traction control all in one control unit) which this customer has is $949.95

Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: BazzazInc. on October 26, 2012, 06:28:55 AM The 999 is currently on our list of applications but do have quite a few other models in line before the 999.

Great to see you guys here! Finally, it looks like someone will actually "bring it" for our Ducatis' EFI systems! We will be getting your parts in our catalog, that's for sure. ;D Chris BTW, there is sorely needed a fix for 2006 S2R 1000. It doesn't have a fast idle lever and it seems those bikes are either 100% perfect or 100% crap. I've got a 100% crap one in my warehouse who's owner has completely given up on it... :P This seems to be the bastard experiment Ducati and Marelli pulled on us. It has closed loop, O2 sensor, stepper motor to control the idle mixture. No matter what I've done to this bike, about 20 seconds into idling, it retards the timing to almost 0 and dies. Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: Uncle Mofo on October 27, 2012, 09:29:52 AM I think I want one! [drool]
Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: krista on October 29, 2012, 10:37:46 AM Thanks for your reply!! I can deliver this bike, too, if that helps. The 2006 is the S2R1000 with a stepper motor for idle but without any provision for fast idle adjustment (yet). I might be doing things to this bike based on other info in this forum, like a FatDuc + 916 type throttle.
Thanks, Chris Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: BazzazInc. on January 11, 2013, 02:30:37 PM To any one in the southern California area and have any of the following bikes please get in touch with my self (on this forum or call 909-597-8300 EXT 103) as we would like to get your bike in for R&D work. With lending your bike to Bazzaz you will receive a free Z-FI fuel control unit and custom map built on our newly released Bazzaz Principia dyno! [thumbsup] The bikes we are lookings for are as follows:
Panigale 2013 998 02-04 hyperstrada 2013 Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: ducpainter on January 11, 2013, 04:03:10 PM I think if Bazazz wants to be here they need to be a sponsor like you are chris.
Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: krista on January 11, 2013, 05:07:16 PM Ha, yeah, and we've given up on the S2R. Putting it 100% back to stock and the owner is going to trade it in for new generation Monster.

Too bad I guess...but as we all know...in regard to Bazazz... nuthin' is for nuthin' ;) Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: 1d10t on January 19, 2013, 12:07:00 PM I'm hoping Bazzaz will have a solution for the S2R 1000. I have one that's been acting weird as of late. It has the DP ecu since it was new as was running okay but is now dying or bouncing the RPM needle at idle. Not sure if it's a fueling issue or maybe needs a new tune.
This is the first I have heard of the steeper motor as a probable cause. Getting annoyed with this wonderful bike, I don't rider her as much because I don't trust her to not die on me at a stop light, or through a low speed turn. scary in traffic. I love it's look and Ducati no longer makes Monsters with full trellis frames. I think it'll be a classic soon. Just need to keep her running. Bazzaz, just a shot in the dark here. Is the S4RS fuel control module and fuel mapper that different? I'm guessing at least the connections are the same. Software may need to be modified for the engine size?? Just asking as I really don't know. Thanks! Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: BazzazInc. on January 21, 2013, 11:56:14 AM 1d10t,
We have never had the S2R in for any kind of development so unfortunately I can not say that the S4RS unit will work. I apologize for the inconvenience. Title: Re: new - Bazzaz for S4Rs Post by: 1d10t on January 21, 2013, 05:13:40 PM I don't suppose you want one? How long do you think you will need an S2R 1000?
