No issues out here in Reston, bikes were nicely tucked away in the climate controlled storage unit, hope everyone is okay. - Gene
Why, what happened? ???
Uh, Sandy. - Gene
Power is still out down here. BIG fire going happening at the moment, trying to warm the place up.
no power loss at our house and the drinks were flowing during it all to help numb the potential loss...but it never happened...so happy drunkeness ensued instead!
Who's Sandy? Some chick who left Ben in the dark? Apparently she really hates Jersey and NYC.
Neighbors diseased pine didn't come down so that was a relief. Sum total of about a minute w/o power and lots of small stuff came down I gotta clean up. But otherwise painless
No damage, no power outage, either. The office, however, was on generators until 3:00 this morning.
Alive and well in downtown DC. Seems folks actually tied shit down for a change. Very little flying debris. Last big storm, there was all kinds of shit flying around...umbrellas, deck chairs, trashcans, and such.
Finally had power restored this afternoon down here in the country.
Just got power back! Water damage to my hardwood floors! water in basment for the first time! Damage to siding and roof. Yard is trashed. Sandy SUCKED!!!!!
Aw bummer! A busted toilet tank leak flooded my last place and ruined the wood floors... sucked. Insurance cover getting someone live ServPro in? You need to start drying up stuff pronto - and that might include putting some holes in walls or taking up dry wall from the floor up to prevent mold.
Yup. I was on it right away. I had to drill holes in the sub-floor to drain water from under the hardwood. I was able to stay ontop of the other flooding. When I installed the drywall in the basement I lifted it 3'' off the floor and installed vinyl baseboard and trim. This has proven to be worth the effort and cost!

Eh crap - just got word and photo that a moto buddies 2nd floor is very mangled. Large tree came down and took out about 80% of the roof. Scary!
CRAPTASTIC....everyone is okay though right?
Seems. He got back to me right away when I emailed on a totally unrelated topic... so I hope that's an indicator that it's just prop damage.
