Title: Monster 796 Chain
Post by: Anchorism on November 07, 2012, 01:31:00 AM
I am thinking about changing out my chain as it is always in need of adjustment.  Ive had it adjusted 3 times and im worried that it has excessive wear.  What should i look for when shopping for a new one?  I was looking something like this one but the price concerns me.  I thought they were usually more expensive than this!

just wait til next spring when things go on sale.

a chain breaking can toast your motor (crack the case) better to not go cheap.

I went ahead and adjusted it over lunch.... at least it feels better for the time being.

Seems a little premature to be concerned about a worn out chain on a 2011 unless you have loads of miles, or lots of hard track miles right?

Well I do have 8200 miles on her already.  I know that's not that much to be doing a chain replacement but every time I had it adjusted it was back to slop within weeks.  So that being said my wife actually got me a nice new red chain from California cycles and it made a big difference plus looks real spiffy!
