Title: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: sofadriver on November 14, 2012, 05:09:22 AM You don't run across one of these everyday.
Might fit a 750 or 900 carbed Monster. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Staintune-FULL-SYSTEM-91-98-Ducati-900SS-750SS-Headers-Cans-Mufflers-Supersport-/170942115669?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27ccf1af55&vxp=mtr (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Staintune-FULL-SYSTEM-91-98-Ducati-900SS-750SS-Headers-Cans-Mufflers-Supersport-/170942115669?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27ccf1af55&vxp=mtr) Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: koko64 on November 14, 2012, 07:45:53 AM Check out the star shaped collector compared to stock.
Is it a stock diameter pipe or 45mm, I wonder? Almost looks tapered on this phone screen. I have seen a 45mm version for older Monsters in an old catalogue (years ago). Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: muskrat on November 14, 2012, 07:49:54 AM I like the look.

Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: ChrisK on November 14, 2012, 08:10:51 AM What do you guys know about Staintune? I have a Staintune system on my '98 900 and I don't really know anything about them.
I haven't had any, in-person experience with other Monsters so I don't really know how the Staintune compares to other systems. How are they compared to the other brands such as Termi, etc? I was considering shopping around for an exhaust update but now I'm wondering if I even need one. Mufflers were quite common, but full systems relatively rare. I like the look of how they make the collector section. I was always curious about the performance of the Staintune full systems and what diameter tubing they used.

Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: DesmoTillDeath on November 14, 2012, 10:19:11 AM Would probably also fit 900 with open loop fuel injection. (no need for the O2 sensor ports)
SHINY........GROUND CLEARENCE......... [bow_down] Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: Speeddog on November 14, 2012, 10:41:34 AM I suspect that would fit a 900 Monster.
AFAIK, 900 headers are not interchangeable with the small motor headers. If you had same pipe sizes, I doubt you'd see a difference on the dyno between that crossover/collector and the OEM one. Pretty though, for sure. Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: brad black on November 14, 2012, 02:08:00 PM ss headers don't work on monsters. different path through swingarm, different muffler location.

There are dyno charts around to show how effective the stock headers are and how very expensive aftermarket full systems may give 2 or 3 peak hp at the very top of the rev range. Not the best bang for buck for the average rider. The crude looking oem stamped collector is surprisingly effective. I haven't seen a dyno comparison with the 45mm Staintune full system for the 900 Monster I once saw in an old catalogue. Maybe it may help a hot 944/964/984 with ported, big valve heads. The beauty of the stock system is that it actually works quite well. You could take it to a pipe maker and have a 45mm version made or ask Staintune to pull out their old jig and make a special order (if it hasn't been recycled). Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: Howie on November 14, 2012, 08:23:46 PM The biggest advantage of the Staintune full system is cornering clearance. Oh, they look cool too.
Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: koko64 on November 15, 2012, 02:53:28 AM The grade of stainless used looks way superior to the oem material. Polish the oem pipes and it doesn't last for long. The oem stainless looks quite "grainy". Those Staintunes look like they hold up real well.
A mate got so frustrated with attempting to polish his oem pipes he went and got them cad or nickel plated (can't remember which one). Title: Re: full Staintune system on E-bay Post by: Mad Mal on November 16, 2012, 09:17:04 PM http://www.staintune.com.au/ (http://www.staintune.com.au/)
