I am trying to find out what the paint code is for a 1997 Ducati monster 750 that is silver. Tried calling up Colorite but they couldn't look it up because they are in the process of adding that info into the system.
I'm curious to know what you'll do with it if you find a Ducati "paint code"?
All of the automotive finish suppliers I've contacted (in the US) other than ColorRite tell me they don't have a 'formula book' for Ducati, so even if I could find a code they don't have info to mix the color to match.
As you know, ColorRite works on year/model reference, not paint code. BTW, don't hold your breath waiting for them to publish codes that can be used by any other supplier ;)
I'll be interested to see if Ducpainter chimes-in here.
check the owners manual
IIRC, the paint code in the manual is *maybe* useful in Europe.
Better off taking an existing painted part to a good automotive paint store, they can match it.

The bike never came with one.
I have a 98 silver st2, i'll check the code.
the code are usually PPG
but there's another company they used from Italy as well.
you can take it to a good paint shop and then can mix it.
OR you can reach out to Ducpainter
Ducati uses several paint companies now that they offer so many low gloss finishes.
The two biggest suppliers are PPG and Salchi.
If you take the code to a PPG dealer that handles the 'Global' paint system you're good. They can mix it.
Some PPG stores don't do 'Global', but use a PPG owned line called Nexa. They can cross from the PPG code and mix also.
Keep in mind there are huge variances is Ducati colors. The paint you buy might not be a perfectt match.
Computer scanning/color matching is another option. Depending on the brand, the technology of the camera, and the color results vary.
Well the search continues...... will keep you all posted [laugh]
