Title: Handlebar rejuvenation
Post by: d3vi@nt on November 18, 2012, 06:45:44 PM
The handlebars on my '99 ST2 are looking pretty beat; stock they look like dull aluminum. Mine are looking a little pitted, scuffed, and otherwise weathered -not sure why, I guess it's just the material.

Any advice on how to spiff them up?  I don't want them to shine and sparkle, necessarily. Just want them to not look beat up.

Thanks.

could remove the bar and everything from the bar, then get some 500-800 grit wet-sandpaper and go to town on the bare bar. should clean it up nicely and give it a "brushed" finish

and after you're done with the above,

There's others out the to prevent corrosion/pitting that occurs naturally on structural aluminum alloys, but personally I really like the purple tint... ;D
