Title: good starter, battery, parking light, inmo too anything else dead
Post by: cmejia1978 on November 22, 2012, 04:28:33 PM
hi I really need help

Drove to the mall today and when I came back I turn the key to ON, stand up, kill switch ON, and I noticed I had no headlight, well no light, no blinkers, no stop light, but when I turned the key I could hear the inmo, as always, fuel pump and try to start the bike, NOTHING, dead as a zombie.

any ideas?

checked all wires all connections nothing...

good charge on the battery, good starter, no damaged fuses, changed everyone for new ones...

Ducati monster 2002 620ie, immobilizer on and healthy, ECU OEM not flashed... no Dyno jet or anything else

i had a cracked key sense fuse a few weeks ago on a s2r1000.  presented as immobilised (yellow light on, think it flashed once), but the pump didn't run with key on.  couldn't connect diagnostics to it either.

so, now that i think about it, completely different to what you have.  sorry.

how do you hear the immo?

it's kind of loud, and it vibrates a lot, not the usual kind... I am going to try to connect my technoresearch gear to see if it connects...

ok, update and final thing:

after thinking all night long about the 1,000 possible scenarios I started with the simple things:

I had parking light which, FYI is not on the same fuse as the low and high beam fuse... then I had starter so the solenoid could not be damaged, or the starter or the inmo, so?¿ The fuses were really nice.... or so they seemed  [popcorn] after testing everyone of the fuse box I ended with 2 "perfect for nothing", cosmetically intact, pristine... but useless, changed them and voilá sweet sound of termis again! THE END

I've had a couple of those, so my visual fault detection chart is as follows:

Visibly blown = fuse is bad

Visibly good = fuse is either good or bad

Well, not "THE END" just yet.  You still need to find why you blew two fuses at the same time.  Otherwise you're just waiting to get stranded.

Common problem areas are chafing near the steering tube or home-wired aftermarket signal lights.

Could it have been as simple as turning the key to Park when you left it and running down the battery? Have you removed the battery and had it charged?
