Couple of questions after searching the forum and reading the manual...
When the book says "disconnect the lambda sensor" does that in fact mean taking the large nut right off the pipe? I don't see any other disconnect and I seem to have parted company with my larger open enders right now [bang]
When the flange is removed and the quick disconnects are undone, will the liter or so of remaining gas spew out?
Appreciate any insight while I scrounge some wrenches. And yes, it has to come off to get the ECU out for remapping and I can't tip the tank up enough maybe because it's so cold and the lines are stiff.
You will not normally have to completely disconnect the tank. Just get something along the side of the bike that you can place the tank on out of the way, like a storage bin.
As far as the lambda sensor, just unhook the wire from under the tank (there are two little hooks) so the tank can lift up, you don't need to actually disconnect anything.
both of the breather hoses at the top of the tank at the filler will just slip off - you should be able to get more than enough room without completely removing the tank to get to the ecu...just disconnect the two rubber mount bolts on the sides, and dont forget the one on the bottom of the back beneath the seat - i believe it's a 5mm bolt that you get at from the bottom. I did this just last weekend to attempt to install a bazzaz, and didn't need to disconnect the fuel lines from the tank.
