Title: ungeheuer rides a hot one Post by: ungeheuer on December 08, 2012, 05:00:50 AM With temperatures forecast to reach around 40°C .... it seemed like a good day to go for a ride around the neighbourhood.
Started with a fuel-up at my local servo... the day was already beginning to warm up.. (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8075/8257058176_f1cb188326_b.jpg) Cool in the shade on my way down to the coast.. (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8490/8253787607_c9982845ff_b.jpg) The rail tracks have sadly long ago been ripped up but some of the old trestles remain.. (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8486/8253805125_febba28361_b.jpg) Bloody hot now. The 'roos sensibly stayed in the shade despite the warnings.. (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8501/8253787699_9006540870_b.jpg) The Powlett meandering closer to its destination.. (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8480/8253787747_0b7efc795e_b.jpg) Over the bridge to Phillip Island (tedious riding on the island, so I didnt)... (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8072/8253813159_5a573cc53e_b.jpg) Refreshment stop. By the time I got to the Fish Creek pub my 3 litre Camelbak was empty.... heat of the day had really begun to hit. When riding with others its not always possible to stop and grab photos, but since my riding buddies... one by one.. all dropped out as the forecast of hot temps kept escalating, I thought it was a good opportunity to catch a few pics.
