Title: I LOST IT! (i got it!)
Post by: DEVO! on July 01, 2008, 05:19:45 AM
I installed my Pazzo's last night on my 695 I got the gold and black shorties. It was really quick about 10 min. BUT.......
I noticed my brake light wasn't working so I pulled off my brake lever and I LOST the little rubber piece that pushes against the micro switch! can find it got on my hands and knees with a flashlight and no luck. Does any one know where I can get this part? I read in another thread that its a ball bearing I have no idea what it looks like.

on mine it's a little black plastic round cylindrical piece, about 1/8" in dia and a little longer in length - mine fell out too when I installed my CRGs and I had the brake light issues as well - what clued me in was I heard the piece fall to the ground when I was doing the work, then later I searched and searched till I found the thing and put it back in. worse comes to worse you could try making another one out of something

Congrats, good thing you found a replacement.  I love my Pazzos, the adjustability rocks!

Is the install really only 10 minutes?  Easy enough for a complete idiot to install?  Uhh, I am, uh, asking for a friend!

Can you turn a wrench?
If the answer to that question is yes, then yes you can do it,

It is the simplest thing ever...

Yes it took 10 min! once you do it you can most likely do much faster the second time. Just make sure you take it easy when you take off the brake lever, I just kinda pulled it off really quick (BIG MISTAKE) just go slow and make sure nothing falls off when you remove the brake lever. A 19mm socket is the only tool that I needed and some grease. As far as adjusting it to prevent brake lockup mine just worked right from the start I haven't adjusted it. I took my socket wrench with me when I picked up the plunger at the dealer and installed it in front of the shop in less than 5 mins.

I should be able to handle that.  How do you like the shorty levers?  That is what I was leaning toward.  My bike has a wet clutch and a really easy lever pull.  The long levers seem to be a little excessive.

I have had them a couple of days now and the brake lever is very easy to control its a big improvement over the stock brake lever. The clutch lever is a bit different I think I liked having a full sized clutch lever better but i think I am going to give it some more time. Does anyone have a short brake lever and a full size clutch lever?

does the shorty clutch lever make it easier or harder clutch pull?

about the same in actual strength required. But the fact that you can adjust them so that the friction point is not at the very end of travel, means that you require less effort to do it. Also, it gives you more control over the clutch.  Worthwhile mod, Go for it!
