Title: Best 696 steering headlift? Post by: TealCandy on December 30, 2012, 05:13:30 PM Hey guys, what type will fit the 696/659? The shop I go to only stocks Anderson stands, will this one work? Or if not, what one from the Anderson website below will work?

Post by: DarkMonster620 on December 30, 2012, 05:44:28 PM Under the triple is good for removing the wheel and forks, under the forks for regular work on bike and wheel removal, MK3 or MK5 seem good to go too, if you will be working a lot on your bike by yourself . .but, if MK3 is convertible, then go with it, if not, depends on what type of work you will be doing . . .
Some companies in the US ship overseas . . . just a thought Title: Re: Best 696 steering headlift? Post by: DucHead on December 30, 2012, 05:50:51 PM I see you have a few bikes. If you have the cash, get both types. The type that lifts from the fork bottoms can be used on your other bikes as well.
I have both types and I use them both regularly. You can never have too many tools. ;D Title: Re: Best 696 steering headlift? http://www.pit-bull.com/ (http://www.pit-bull.com/) They offer a couple options - one is a dedicated triple lift set up. Sturdy, works well. The other option is an under the forks stand than can have an under the triple lift conversion kit added. The tiple lift portion isn't as stable as the dedicated version, but more of the time one would use an under the fork lift. You only need under the triple to drop the forks, not as common as dropping a wheel. You dollar is a bit stronger than the green back presently so USD priced pitbull stands might be attractive. Those look really nice though I ended up going with an anderson under the triple as the availability was good, quite happy with it very sturdy. Wish I noticed the pitbull ones though they seem to be the best.. I also have two gorgeous amstaffs :) |
