So i was going through my 94 M900 and checking everything to make sure it was snug, when i came across a little allen bolt that goes into my head right next to the spark plug. Its on my top vetical head. It was loose and i noticed oil around the bolt on the head fins. So i went to tighten it and found out it was stripped. While it was turning and obviously not getting tighter, it broke off and the remaining part of the bolt is still in the hole recessed in the head about 1/8 of an inch. I started bike to see how much it'd leak, just a little but its streesing me out. Whats that bolt for??
I think that bolt plugs an oil galley in the head.
You'll need to get the old one out.
I'd recommend a l/h twist drill bit with a drill in reverse. It should back right out.
Okay. Ill give that a try. What is the "oil galley"? Because i noticed oil around the same bolt on my horizontal head also. and it was a tad loose so i snugged it up.
Thanks! That worked great. I used the left hand drill bit and it loosened it and made a perfect little hole for me to grad with my easy out. I'm glad I asked. I was getting ready to drop my motor to get to it better. Now I'm getting new bolts and brass washers for both. Thanks again! [beer]
Will nylon washers work on this?

I'm not sure.
The factory used copper. I'd say re-use that one if you still have it.
No I don't have them. I just used a tiny bit of lock tite and some rtv. I think it'll be good now
