Title: MWR Power Up Kit on a Monster 696
Post by: potpockey on January 07, 2013, 11:11:26 PM
Hi guys!

I am looking for some advice on the installation of the MWR power up kit on my monster.
When you remove the tank - does it need to be drained first(read that in the manual), and if not it will spill fuel all over the place? or is there some vacuum mechanism on the fuel lines that wont let fuel flow out when the pump is off?

Also - after removing the airbox - what did you use to make the holes? I am thinking about using a Dremel - unless someone has a better solution.

After I get this done I plan to post a How To on this! :)

Thanks in advance,

Yoni

the installation I think requires taking off the top expansion chambers of the airbox which are glued in. I think you can heat them and pull them.
there's an instruction somewhere. do a quick search MWR 696

also, the tank should be close to empty, good time to ride the fuel off. And yes it will spill if you tip it up, but you don't have to, leave it all connected, just slide it off it's mounts and set it carefully sideways or have a friend hold it while you pull the airbox top off.

he did dremel it, so you'll want to take it off the bike.
