i would like to change the fuel filter/s and i have couple of questions.
1: Do both #12 & #4 need/have to be changed?
2: Do i get to them From the top of the fuel tank or the bottom?
3: Tips to get the job done in an easy way?
4: Any particular brand of fuel filters? or regular OEM?

I only replace #12. #4 is a mesh screen to prevent the pump from picking up any debris that might be in the tank. I've only replaced one because it was physically damaged.
You access the filter from the top. The cap holder can be stubborn.
I use NAPA #3032 filters...much cheaper than OEM. It is slightly smaller and doesn't fit the bracket as well, but it works fine.
#3. Find a friend with long slim arms who is willing to small gassy.
The cap holder has small screws all around . Are those the ones I have to loosen up ? I'm not talking abt the 4mm hex screws that hold the locking mechanism/cap.
How often do I have to replace the fuel filter ? Does it go by time or mileage ? Is it part of the 6k service or the 12k service ?

The small set screws need to be loosened about 1/8".
The fuel filter should be replaced every 6K miles.

is it easy to visually check #4? i want to make sure its fine just it case.
when you say stubborn , it needs force, rotation, ..?
thx for the input on napa filters , its abt 4$ which is much cheaper than oem indeed . if the filter doesnt fit the bracket how does it stay in your tank?
i will go with the napa filters and replace it every 3-4k miles. anyway i only ride that bike on Sundays..

You need to remove the pump to check the screen...not easy...not tremendously difficult.
Some Monster tanks don't even have a filter bracket. The filter really can't go anywhere.

Sometimes it's necessary/easier to lube up the pump insulator to get it back into the bracket.
A small amount of grease/vaseline works fine
get a fresh o ring too
a partially blocked filter makes the bike run crappy
