Title: NASCAR 2013 Post by: kopfjäger on January 11, 2013, 06:29:56 PM Testing of the Gen 6 car started yesterday, continued today and will finish tomorrow at Daytona. They test at Charlotte next week. I'm digging the new car. Roger Penske left Dodge for Ford, so Dodge pulled out. This year only Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota will compete.

I mean, I understand the effort behind it but to me, it becomes an edurance contest more than anything on the big speedways. Dover is entertaining but only because of the crashfest. I went to one of the Nationwide series races at Iowa Speedway (short oval) and by about lap 20, I was thinking they should add spike strips to liven things up. I am not picking on NASCAR by any means as IndyCar has the same effect to me. Indy is a terrible "show." At least NASCAR has close racing and some bumping. Indy is more like a MotoGP procession on an oval. The cars just spread out with only a select handful of good passes, which usually come on the final few laps.
