i am having some .75nm springs made up for the 996 forks now fitted to my S4 but i need to confirm that 996 springs are 290mm long and 38mm diameter???????

I can't guarantee the quality of this info, but this is what K-Tech says in ther application list.

MAKE MODEL SUSPENSION YEAR DIA/DIA LENGTH mm

DUCATI 996 SHOWA 2000 - 2001 38.00 288.00

I've got OEM 748 springs that are 38mm diameter and 286mm long.

Ohlins has drop-in springs for 996 that are part# 08627-90.
My Ohlins spring chart says those are 38mm OD x 28mm ID x 5mm diameter wire, 287mm long.
