In fact her Mom was a Mardi Gras queen (did I spell that right??) for one of the parades in 1954. We have a really cool picture book from those days and in our entryway we have a framed picture of my wife's Mom in her royal dress. She looked AWESOME in those photos!! She passed in 2000 before I really got to know her. Sadness for sure. But her daughter (my wife) carries on that spirit. God bless NOLA. I ride it to work most of the week. i guees normal fire hazzards are avoided as there are no open flames in the loft. The stove is electrical, offcourse there could always be an accident with something shorting out etc but yeah, probably not much more dangerous than an attached garage.
