Title: Carby Gen1 fender options Post by: MotoPsycho on February 12, 2013, 12:32:56 PM I've been looking at picking up a 851/888 front fender for my M750. Were the cast mounts made into the fork lowers the same on the Marzocci forks(that I have) the same as on the 851's? I searched for it but could not find a definitive answer. From what I'm seeing though, that generation SBK had the same 30/34 brake calipers as I have.

Title: Re: Carby Gen1 fender options Post by: MotoPsycho on February 12, 2013, 10:15:21 PM Yeah, that makes it a whole lot easier than I first thought. I didn't know a 916/748 fender would work. Thanks for the info. Now I can get to looking when I get home. I found a place that does 851 plain Jane fenders for race bodywork for under 100 bucks but I need to look into them a little more detailed.

Maybe a very early 916. The 851/888 or SS is the OP's best bet. Keep in mind if you get the SS fender they used a different profile tire and will sometimes rub on a 170/20 front tire. There is an easy work around if it does. Title: Re: Carby Gen1 fender options Post by: Speeddog on February 13, 2013, 12:28:32 PM All 916 pics I've ever seen show a large-axle USD fork, so therefore will not bolt up to Gen 1 Monster forks.
851/888 and all SS 1990 - ~1998. Terblanche-styled SS's have the big axle forks. Title: Re: Carby Gen1 fender options Post by: brad black on February 14, 2013, 01:22:18 AM that's an ss one. all the forks with cast on fittings are the same.
the ss ones come in two heights. one to fit the 60 series front tyre on 400, 600, 750 and 900cr, and one with more distance between mounts and top section for the 900ss with the 70 series tyre. i think any of the plastic clip mount ones will have the mounts too low, even if they are the same distance apart. Title: Re: Carby Gen1 fender options Post by: MotoPsycho on February 14, 2013, 03:09:27 AM Correct on the plastic clip mounts. Only the ones with the 17mm axle and cast fender mounts will work. Very early 916 might work but the hole spacing looks to be a little wider to me. I run a 120/60 so a 851 or SS is the route I'll most likely be taking. Thanks for all the input. I found a fiberglass piece for like $80ish and that's about the best deal I've found yet.
