Title: Looking for a new job
Post by: nickshelby500kr on February 16, 2013, 03:38:20 PM
Im looking for a new job, during a crappy company buyout and being guaranteed the same position after the transition, i have been made aware that myself and many others will be getting the axe come the end of two weeks from now. Which pretty much sucks because my girlfriend and I just bought a house of our own.

I was previously working in the property management/ mortgage assets servicing but am pretty open to a different career. Just gotta make sure my bills get paid.

If you know of anything, please let me know so i can send me resume out.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear.  I went through the same bullshit in 2008.   Try car dealerships to fill the void.  Specifically what are your job functions so we can brain storm?

I previously worked for Bank of America as a property preservation specialist. We maintained bank owned properties after they entered the foreclosure process. Our department was sold to Safeguard property management because safeguard basically wanted to buy the loans to service the property and make money.

I was a property preservation specialist team lead. I was the middle person between the production associates and the team manager. I assisted in production work when needed but mainly sent the work to associates and ran reports for production, new work orders, delinquent orders, dealt with our contractors to resolve any issues that were present at the property as well as deal with Hud, Fnma, fhlmc and investors for non government secured loans.

well my official last day is march 8th, and I have probably sent my resume our 20 times this weekend.

The whole situation just sucks all the way around. Im trying to stay as positive as possible; and even though I hated this place, it still paid the bills and more.

From what I have been told, safeguard is pretty much phasing out people bit by bit. All they wanted were the loans to service, and they are piece by piece moving the job duties back to ohio where their main offices are.

I'm not quite sure what you mean...

I'm not quite sure what you mean...

I think he means doing the property preservation gig for your own company, do what you were doing for the other guy -but for yourself.   ;)

Either that or he meant going solo to dinner and a movie (it could be that.  He's a weird dude  [laugh] )

...but in a serious note: Best of luck with the hunt.

I figured thats where he was going with it, but frankly I flat out lack the resourses to make something like that happen. Besides thats the other side of property preservation. I worked in the bank corporate office, for the bank, ensuring the properties were being maintained. If the property needed work, we would create a work order with a contractor to take care of it. I wasn't the one actually going out to these places and doing the work.

send me your resume, my sister-in-law is a realtor for Virginia Cook (Ebby) and she knows lots of management companies.  I can pass it along to her.
