Oh, yeah..

Think they will do a Dark version?
I had a blue one once.... but I gave it to a friend
I'm surprised with all the negative press as to its looks. I love it and having the kiddie seats in back just makes it more of a dream vehicle for me.
I like what they are doing on the website too. Ferrari was allways bad at not having a place where dreamers could really explore their cars on the net. I want to sit over coffee in the morning and build and paint my own net car while wishing I didn't have to go to work to pay for the ford ranger.
I love the old Ferrari California 250GT's --- stunningly beautiful especially with the covered headlight iterations. I helped in restoring one years ago that won at Pebble and other concours. Fun cars to play with as well and still reliable for daily use.
The new California? It looks like an intermixed breeding of a Ferrari tail, older BMW roadster door / front fender and Lexus windscreen. It leaves me cold. I'd buy the Alfa 8C spyder (below) long before I'd ever consider the Ferrari.

The 8C is what dreams are made of!!! Especially owning the first new Alfa an US soil in almost 14 years.... Have you seen the new MiTo? The poor man's 8C. The size of a mini cooper and you can upgrade it to 230bhp.
I think this is my favorite angle of the Ferrari -

i think its stunning.
but even so ... ferraris are like pizza. even when they're bad, they're still pretty good.

The real 8C2900's of the 1930's are what dreams are made of (along with the P3 Alfa) -- the new one is just stunning and a continuance from then. For those at the upcoming Pebble Beach concours d'elegance this year -- stop by and say "hi". I'm with the 8C2900 that will be on the lawn this year.
Also they are having an exhibition of the real Ferrari 250 California's this year -- there are a few nice ones coming down in the transporter.
I like the looks of the California, but it doesn't look like a Ferrari to me...

:o Thats a million dollar car!!!
Do you have any pics of it?
Drool, as with all the pretty red prancing horses I will never own. Sigh. :-\
The side sculpting on the new California reminds me of a similar feature on the '66-'67 365 California Spider, only backward. ;)
mmmm want!

Oh MotoC, You are my hero!
I have drooled over the 8C2900B for years, along with it's little brother the 6C2300.
That is IMO, the epitome of beauty, and I would take one instead of any RR or Bugati ever made.
You're a lucky man.

I thought the same thing, but didn't want to say it.
go ahead and say it.
it's still a vette and that's still a ferrari ;)

I know, but I hate to mention Chevy and Ferrari at the same time.
The Chevy is but a turn of the Ferrari's key, from being forgotten.
sorry but if a Ferrari has a trunk big enough for a golf bag it just feels wrong to me.
Kewl web site, dig the auto. If you open the sound page.... does the visual look like the partical streams from Ghostbusters to anybody else? ;D
That's like comparing the Monster to an SV
same basic concept, quite different in feel and substance. BTW even if I had the money truth be told, I'd prolly buy the vette first. But I wouldn't compare it to a Ferrarri.
And a 'vette Z06 will stomp an F430 for the most part in terms of numbers, but it still ain't the same thing. ;)
Luca drives an Alfa 8C as his daily driver. He has a 599bb Ferrari and a Fiat as well. What does that tell you , when the CEO of Ferrari drives an Alfa Romeo as his dayly car?
I believe an original Ferrari California 250 GT recently sold for $11,000,000 . Most ever for any Ferrari.

That he can't afford the gas.
Sorry, I don't see the Beemer, or the 'Vette in that car. I see hips and the small of a back that are just drop dead sexy. Me likey...
as for the Alfa - is this what you are talking about?

For those in Monterey, CA -- guess what is appearing soon?
Some of us have been wondering why is there a special "exhibition class" of the original Ferrari California's at the Pebble Beach concours d'elegance this year. It's been a year in the planning literally.
Then this: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/12/ferrari-california-spotted-in-california-where-else/
And guess what appeared under wraps and security today via the Ferrari transporter?
This upcoming Sunday should be interesting at Pebble Beach for those that are here.

well, both ferrari and alfa are owned by fiat, so i don't really read a lot into it.
