To preface my questions.
I pulled the carbs, fuel pump and vacuum tap to rejet, replace emulsion tubes, fuel pump and change to manual fuel tap.
On disassembly things do not look the same as parts diagrams or haynes manual i guess due to some PO alterations.
That said I just pulled everything off and bought some new hoses and stuff to replace.
I had 4 drain hoses including one with a filter cable tied to the left side of the frame 2 thin ones from the bottom of the float bowls and two thicker black ones, one with a filter in it not sure what it connects to what
Carbs also have oil heater circuit routed to bowls.
On a carbed M600 there is an airbox (pod thing) PART # 585.1.014.1AB on the left hand side. It has a nipple thing on it. What hose if any connects to this pod and if so where does it go to.
Looking on top of the carbs to the front there is what I am thinking is the fuel inflow from the fuel pump.
Something connects to what I guess is an overflow that looks similar to the fuel inflow nipple but is slightly above and behind it.
Any photos etc of stock setup would be most helpful.
Also on a pentagonal fuel pump which one is the vacuum line.
Hope this makes sense to someone as I am not sure it makes sense to me

Those fat hoses with the little cannister filters are breathers for the CV pistons. They may have a wire spring over them to protect them from being pinched or kinked.
The outlet behind the fuel inlet is for another breather hose to the pod. The pod stops air turbulance/pressure messing with the carb.
The overflow hoses are the thin ones off the float bowls. Some models had four, two to drain and two to allow for overflow, some had only two that appear to do both.
The ends of the fat hoses originally went to a pod on the R/H side
They need to be in relatively still air.
The fat cannister hoses might sit under the airbox and a T piece between the carbs runs a hose down to one pod, the other pod being for show. Not sure when any changes occurred, but it was on my '95 model. Someone will know.
DP. Your bike have a hose to each pod?
Garry do both pods have hose fittings?

I don't remember.
My bike has no pods now and hasn't forever.
The hoses got re-routed to tuck up between the battery box and the air box.
That will change soon enough. ;)
I don't remember either, but I could look at the pods if it is important. I did the same thing with the hoses that Nate did.

I have a good idea how to get rid of the ugly plastic pods :P
The two hoses (No16 on the diagram) can be swaped, and then they can be curved perfectly under the air box. Just install the left hose to the right cannister filter and the right hose to the left.
All you need is a few cable ties. The drain hose which goes to the left plastic pod can be replaced with new one and routed to the left frame tube together with the filter box draining hose. No problem with the carbs functionality.

Hose from the bowl vent (T-fitting next to fuel infeed) goes to the nipple on the left side pod.
