Title: Re: Rizoma suspension hoop Post by: DucatiBastard on July 03, 2008, 05:38:55 PM Does this thing replace the factory hoop? I've never looked close at the DSS suspension...
Title: Re: Rizoma suspension hoop Post by: Slide Panda on July 03, 2008, 05:55:02 PM It's only for 2000 and older Monsters. In 2001 they changed the frame and the rear suspension layout that did away with that hoop.
Title: Re: Rizoma suspension hoop Post by: junior varsity on July 03, 2008, 08:06:27 PM yuu hit it on the head - this is only applicable on hooped monsters and is a direct replacement part. the suspension is completely different on newer DSS monsters.

In 2001 they changed the frame and the rear suspension layout that did away with that hoop. My 2001 m900 dark has a hoop...... Title: Re: Rizoma suspension hoop Post by: junior varsity on February 15, 2012, 03:24:27 PM Yes, the 01 was the last year of the 851-888 based frame. The 02-07 Monsters got the ST based frame (as did the S4 - arguably just an early entry of the st framed monsters, since it doesn't fit so neately in year grouping).
Btw, I will respond to your pm tonight, I hope. Title: Re: Rizoma suspension hoop Post by: Staggerlee on February 15, 2012, 03:46:02 PM Style and Performance in Italy manufacture a billet hoop:

Nice piece. They (S&P) ignored all my attempts at contacting (perhaps no direct sales to end user in USA?) so I went through Anthony @ Desmoworks. I'd like to pick up a second in the near future. It is slightly taller than the OEM, raising rise height without resort to spacers, thereby quickening steering and shortening wheel base.

He came over and helped me take all the tasty bits off and restore the factory parts...
As Nate noted, I know what I have. I've been AWOL lately, but I was on this board before there was a board ;) Here's a pic anyway... Odd question: Happen to have blue? I am about to place an order for some miscellaneous other bits (for the GT1000) anyway. Title: Re: Rizoma suspension hoop Post by: MotoPsycho on November 02, 2012, 07:35:01 PM Viable alternative ?
