Title: Bar Ends for mirrors lock help
Post by: xsephirot on March 23, 2013, 01:27:49 PM
Guys,

So I used a rubber thing wrapped over the 2 conical metal things that lock up against the inside of the handlebar. I used it to dampen the vibration especially with big napoleon mirrors.

Well, when I went to take off the mirror today the rubber had jammed itself in and the lock side of one of the conical things is jammed in there pretty permanently  [bang]. Was wondering if anyone knows which bar ends I can buy to replace it? Is it any generic will work?

I had napoleon mirrors, and all I can say is, what?
Pics would be awesome.

If you are looking to retighten them and need to replace the rubber piece, try the aluminum expanding spacer that other bar end mirrors use.

I tried getting pics but that thing is pretty deep in the handlebar that nothing shows.

Basically I used the stock bar end bolt with the 2 anchor washer and nut. I stupidly used a rubber piece over it and somehow that shredded when I tightened it down. So when I tried to take it out today the end nut came off with the rubber all stuck in it and now it's completely stuck in the handlebar. So I'm looking for a replacement anchor nut. All the ones I've been searching for seem like just a 1 metal or rubber thing. I don't know if those will fit thru the slot of the napoleon mirrors (about 10mm).
