I'm curious how those of you with GoPro cameras are attaching them to your monsters.  I'm getting one for my bday and trying to choose the right attachment accessories.  I'm looking to do some creative angles for film-making, not just using it dor documentation/safety.

I've got a 696 monster dark.  The paint on the tank is flat black, so I'm not sure if the suction mounts are best to use on it?  Seems like gloss paint would be better grip. 

Handlebar mount? 

Somewhere along the side, on the frame?  Not sure how people are doing that angle.

Helmet? Are the adhesive mounts permanent?  Not sure how I feel about permanently attaching something to the helmet and not being able to remove it for rides without the GoPro.

Chest mount harness?

Lets hear it.  I'm open to off-brand ebay mounts if you've got experience with them and they're good quality.

I've seen some cool videos where the cam was mounted low on the bike. Really got a sense of the road. Sorry no links, saw the vids quite some time ago..

Yea, I've seen vids like that as well.  Looking for the mounting methods to achieve stuff like that! 

On the Monster, I mount mine on the handlebar just to the right of the clamp.  It doesn't quite sit perpendicular to the direction of travel, but you can't tell in the resulting footage. 

When riding in the dirt I mounted it on my helmet, but the lack of any level horizontal or vertical surface large enough meant that I had to use several adapter pieces to get it so it would face forward properly.  It looks (and feels) a little awkward, but seems to work alright.

- Fork tube
- frame tube (may not work so easily on the new frames)
- Paddock stand bobbin.
- Handlebars

i've seen cool results mounting it to the rear passenger peg...

My camera straps to my knee, it gives great pics of the road and lean angles, try it.
