Title: plans to celebrate independence?
Post by: turtherlips on July 03, 2008, 08:39:36 AM
What are everyone's plans for July 4th weekend? I'm pretty pumped that it's on a Friday this year.

Me: Taking the Duc up north to go camping off the coast of Portland, ME with my girl and a bunch of college buddies.  [drink]

Shooting of fireworks at the folks house. I also have been saving plastic bottles for a couple months for dry ice bombs. [evil]

I'll be offshore at work.
It's not all bad, I set up " Flare Training*" for the 4th.
Gettting paid, shooting off pryotechnics, drinking beer........2 out 3 aint too bad :D

* had to contact the Coast Guard, Alaska State Troopers, Kenai Police Dept., Nikiski Fire Dept, et al
But we get to set off all our out of date parachute, hand held, smoke flares.

A friend of mine almost blew his eardrums with a dry ice bomb. They're freaking loud! Be careful, because unlike a gunpowder-based firework, the dry-ice bombs obviously don't have a fuse.... Unpredictable, which == AWESOME!  [evil] [evil]

I will be handing over my civil liberties and freedoms, getting strip searched and interrogated, flying on a commercial airline from Iowa to Jackson WY - how ironic.

I'm spending the day relaxing, enjoying my 1st 3 day weekend in I months. I was going to buy a grill yesterday when we got back. But, they didn't have any I liked. Might go check out the japanese shops today. It's raining. I've got a couple of good steaks for tonight.

Was going to go riding, until a little mishap this morning.

Sliced my right hand between the thumb and index finger.  Got to see what the tendon looks like.

Doc says i'm lucky, came damn close to cutting the tendon.  My thumb and finger are immobilized for a week.
