Title: Rev limiter issue...
Post by: rromano22 on April 21, 2013, 11:00:58 AM
Hey guys. I own a 2013 1100evo that only has 250 miles thus far, and it's already in the shop for a strange problem. I was hoping someone else could help me out. Long story short, i was on a on ramp to a major highway, soon as i got to about 40mph, the 2 red lights beside the abs light (rev limiter lights) started to flash on acceleration. I wasn't anywhere near redline (below 4000 rpm). The second i decelerated, they would go off.... but any acceleration at all would trigger the lights and basically shut me down. It was a horrible experience being on the highway, luckily it happened when i had just got on, and was able to quickly use the breakdown lane.

I had it towed to my dealer who have 3 master techs, and they called me with the worst possible news. "the bike stored no codes, and we can't find a problem". Probably the worst thing i wanted to hear. They are continuing to investigate the problem. I figured i'd ask around in the meantime. Anybody experience this or hear of anybody experiencing something like this? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch,

Rob

sounds like the Traction control issue.  I haven't seen it on mine but other's have seen it.

I'm guessing from the other threads but it seems this affects pure stock bikes.  I haven't noticed anyone with 14 tooth front sprockets having the issue.  Not sure if related or not though...  Is your bike stock?

Yikes. I've had zero issues here. Looks like if I do the trick is to just disable DTC all together. Good luck!
