not sure how it happened but the insert that connects the main frame to the subframbetween the two engine mounts sheared in half
The right side is splt
I had notices the outer cosmetic bolt was gone and though it either vibrated loose or some had f$cked with my bike
now i know it was probably sent flying when the frames split apart
maybe i hit a pothole or...
tge frame is straight from the wreck 3 yrs ago
the bolt was tqd properly
I will report it to DNA just in case its a failure point they need to check
If the cosmetic bolt is on you won't see this as it likely could hold them together until you put serious stress on the frame

Whilst you state that the frame/subframe was torqued correctly (and I have no reason to doubt you), did you re-use the original hardware after your subframe repaint or was the now fractured part replaced after your wreck?
Just wondering if it could be that the part was hairline cracked after your wreck and went unnoticed?
that is possible it was cracked from the wreck.
once i get the parts in, I'll pull the other side and check the condition.
Guess I don't understand this description. The adjuster ring which is broken in half is not tension/shear loaded. It is in compression with bolt no. 6. That bolt is inserted through the adjuster ring into a captive nut on the backside of the frame, and is not a cosmetic bolt. The bolt holds the frame pieces together, not the ring. At least that is the way it is on my 1100EVO.
actually the part (4) is the actual connector, it is put into the two frames, then the ring (part 5) is tq'd down to lock it in place.
the outer bolt and inner nut are cosmetic
right now on my right side the part is cut in half, with half in the main frame and half in the subframe.
the one in the subframe may be a pain in the ass to get out.

Understanding that you are more interested in getting your bike fixed than in engaging in a forum debate, I still have to point out that you have misinterpreted the frame connection points. It is as I stated earlier. If you wish, PM me and I will supply you with the shop manual pages.
It just occurred to me that your description of the installation may be as you described on your bike, and if that is true, then it was assembled incorrectly.

in my panic, i didn't look at the part right. i reread the manual
that's the spacer and it does NOT go through both frame/subframe

The confusion is very understandable since your focus is on getting things back together, while at the same time probably thinking you have dodged a bullet by catching it when you did.
Doubtful you will be able to figure out what happened, but if I was in your situation I would also be wanting to know WTF!
Now this is cosmetic.......but the structural 12 Mm screw is underneath. ;)
