Title: Front fender options
Post by: DarkStaR on July 03, 2008, 07:37:14 PM
I've got the DP front diversion fender on my S2R, but I'm looking for something that will protect the sliders of my new (to me) forks.

I know some other fenders from other bikes will fit.  I'm pretty much looking for new ideas, and confirmation of fit.

Pics would be cool too!   [thumbsup]

Thanks in advance.

i know i'm not going to be any help but it was sooo cheap, i couldn't pass it up.  i'm just glad it fit.  "superbike fender".  it fit my s4r perfectly.

the OEM fender from the 916-998 will fit.

the DP SBK carbon piece will as well.

I've seen another SBK-style fender that had these mesh screens in 'em... spidey's bike has it... that one looks pretty sweet, too, but I don't recall the mfr of it.

Hey Moto,

That's what I wanted, but I was unsure if it would fit.  Does it have the aluminum inserts?

Aluminum inserts? On the fender?
Why would it need aluminum inserts?

Oh I know what you mean...
The front fender is mounted onto a plastic ring- so there is really no need to mold in aluminum tabs there.

Not to suggest ebay over Moto Wheels, but I did just find this sweet little number with vents in it...would really complement the vents on the 696 intake, no?

So what is that vent for? To keep the tire cool?

Hey Moto,

I just ordered it.  I hope it gets to me before Moto GP.  I'm in the sf bay area btw.

Also, I noticed that the shipping weight was 13.5lbs.  Did that affect the shipping/handling costs?

Thanks.  [thumbsup]

It will probably ship tomorrow. You should get it Wednesday.
The weight is a FED EX dimensional weight calculated by size and weight of the box.

Where is everyone going to be on Sunday? We are going to Monterey Friday night to ride all Saturday and then watch the race Sunday.
We are staying at the Borg right down the road from Cannery Row.
