Title: Kriega gray straps no more!
Post by: Narflar on May 18, 2013, 09:03:34 AM
A few months ago I got a Kriega US-20 bag and I love it.  I run a lot of errands and needed something that I could stash random stuff into.  I hate tank bangs, I don't like wearing a backpack, so that leaves a tail bag.  All the ones I found seemed way to bulky and then there was Kriega.  It flattens down to almost nothing when not in use and even with my everyday things it's not large yet it can expand to hold a good amount of stuff.  Being waterproof is a plus also.

One thing that's always bugged me about the bag is the mounting straps it shipped with were gray.  You take the bag off the bike and you're left with these gray tabs hanging off the bike.  Not a big thing but it bugged me, especially when some of the photos on the Kriega website show black straps.  I shot off an email to Kriega and they said the gray straps I have were done for only one production run, they  now have black straps with a silver dot.  They say the gray straps were to help people find them in the dark.  Now you have a shiny dot to help find them in the dark.  The guy I was emailing even offered to send me a set in the mail for free.   [thumbsup]

So good one for Kriega.  I was ready to just buy new straps if they said they had black ones available.  I didn't expect them to just send me replacements for free.

Pretty cool, I was thinking of getting the cortech super tail bag but I may go this route instead.

It can hold a lot.  Here's a pic of when I did a trip through the mountains.  4 days of clothes in the bag.  The MSR cans were extra fuel.  I didn't want to be caught without in the middle of nowhere.

Kriega bags are great to have. Here was my setup for a 5 day run in the mountains. Worked perfectly. Much better that having a Givi case back there. The plate remains very useful though.
